What Was Built

Over 30 hours, builders came together in Dublin to create tangible solutions for the Ummah. Five projects emerged—each built from scratch, each addressing a real gap in our community's infrastructure.

Frictionless Payments

Telegram-based borderless money transfer for the unbanked

A Telegram bot that lets anyone send money using plain language—in any language. No apps to download, no banking required. Type "send €50 to Ahmed" and it happens. Designed for those excluded by traditional financial systems, cutting out the middlemen who take up to 30% of every transfer.

Ethical Job Screener

Chrome extension for values-based job screening

A Chrome extension that scans job listings on LinkedIn or Indeed and instantly surfaces ethical concerns—from whether the role involves serving alcohol to whether the company has supported harmful causes. Sources cited, decision left to you.

03Digital Halal Economy

Community Lending Platform

Peer-to-peer interest-free emergency loans

A platform connecting those facing short-term emergencies with community members willing to give interest-free loans (Qard Hasana). Focused on local communities, anonymized to remove stigma, with open banking verification to assess ability to repay. When you can't make rent this month but will be fine next month—this is where you turn.

Park Watch

Mosque parking management and community relations

A parking management system designed for mosques, addressing the chaos of Jumu'ah parking that strains community relations. Tracks occupancy, flags repeat offenders parking illegally in neighboring areas, and provides data to optimize volunteer deployment. Works with just phones or integrates with existing cameras.

05Fard Kifayah Solutions

Unify

Organizational memory preservation for leadership transitions

An AI-powered system that aggregates scattered organizational knowledge—emails, Slack, WhatsApp, Google Drive—into searchable institutional memory. When leadership changes, knowledge doesn't walk out the door. New committees can search "how did we run Charity Week in 2023?" and get structured answers with sources.
